Position Summary:
Manage operational issues of(Name of company)., its
subsidiaries & JVs etc in Greater Dhaka Region; provide strategic inputs to
the Board of Directors as well as Managing Director & CEO.
Main purpose:
Reporting to the Managing Director & CEO, (Name of the
Company), the Executive Director –Dhaka is the head of the(Name of the
Company).’s operations in greater Dhaka Region. This role includes, but not
limited to, administering (Name of the Company).’s entire operations in greater
Dhaka Region as well as providing various strategic & operation inputs to
(Name of the Company or Group)as a whole and its Managing Director & CEO
and other members of the Leadership Team. Executive Director -Dhaka, along with
the other members of the Leadership Team, is also responsible for building and
maintaining a culture that combines the highest standards of integrity with
responsive, practical approaches to . furthering the work of (Name of the
Company).
The Executive Director -Dhaka is broadly responsible for:
1. Administering (Name of the Company or Group) 's entire
operations in Dhaka Region & ensure A(Name of the Company or Group). 's
interests in Chittagong Region are protected at all times
2. Supervising the entire Dhaka Region team &
operations through appropriate co-ordination, motivation & guidance
3. Liaising & developing close operational
relationships with various Government Security & Law Enforcement Agencies,
Communities around (Name of the Company or Group). 's Business Locations
& Emergency Services for effectively responding & managing smooth
implementation of projects in Dhaka Region.
4. Monitoring and supervising timely completion of project
as well as costs e.g. budgeting, cash flow, invoicing & payments, schedules
& projected profitability
5. Developing and leading operational strategy for
implementing (Name of the Company or Group)'s strategic roadmap as well as
promoting and protecting the company's matters, interests, reputation and
assets & people.
6. Ensuring discipline of all concerned & compliance
to legal & statutory requirements
Functional Hierarchy:
The ED -Dhaka. (i) reports to the Managing Director &
CEO; (ii) counsels the Board of Directors and its Chair on strategic &
operational issues; (iii) works collaboratively with members of the Leadership
Team; and (iv) advises Departmental Heads & other professionals of the
(Name of the Company or Group)on various operational issues, ensuring
compliance and effectively managing risks.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities of Executive Director
-Dhaka :
The ED -Dhaka. is responsible for:
1. Proactively understanding various aspects of (Name of
the Company or Group)'s business and the industry as well as regulatory
environment and providing strategic alternatives / ideas on both operational
issues and business issues affected by operational as well as &
regulations.
2. Identifying and highlighting potential strategic
opportunities (Name of the Company or Group).
3. Developing and leading corporate operational strategy
to promote and protect the company's matters, interests, reputation and assets
& people;
4. Advising senior management with respect to the
operational implications of all major decisions strategies and transaction of
the firm.
5. Overseeing delivery of projects and resources in
Greater Chittagong Region to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and
priorities.
6. Co-coordinating
and overseeing the activities of project related business partners e.g.
consultants, contractors etc. with respect to speed of execution, costs,
quality of work, potential risks and / or governance issues.
7. Planning and managing project related budgets and
expenditure to get the most services for the least money.
8. Managing and resolving major disputes with minimum
impact to business either through mediation, negotiation or litigation jointly
with other related Leadership Team members;
9. Negotiating and drafting / reviewing project related
contracts & agreements between A (Name of the Company or Group) and its
business partners or any third parties in collaboration with Chief Legal
Officer, Chief Financial Officer for clearance & authorization by Managing
Director & CEO;
10. Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and
regulations; investigating if the company or a staff member does not comply
with the law; bringing to the attention and knowledge of the Managing Director
& CEO as well as Board of Directors any dubious / suspicious activities
which may tantamount to non-compliance or violation of the Laws of the Land or
Code of Conduct of (Name of the Company or Group) and resolving it at the
earliest;
11. Identifying potential areas of compliance
vulnerability, risk avoidance and .mitigation; develop and implement corrective
action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance
on how to avoid similar situations in the future.
12. Anticipating, identifying, guarding against and
managing potential operational risks facing the company including those in
contracts, operations and claims etc. In conjunction with the Managing Director
& CEO and Leadership Team, developing and overseeing an integrated risk
management program of (Name of the Company or Group) for the Greater Chittagong
Region, including ensuring appropriate procedures are in place to prevent risks
from arising and to address them in the event they do arise.
13. Ensuring administrative follow-up in relation with
contractual, legal, statutory / regulatory obligations in the Greater
Chittagong Region;
