General Manager- Container Terminal project will be responsible for rearing Project planning, Organizing,
Supervising, Scheduling & coordinating all kind of project related work during implementation.General Manager- Container Terminal project will responsible is as below:
Position: General Manager- S. Martin Industrial Project.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for keeping liaison with local authorities, land owner other parties regarding S.Martin Industrial Project.
- Maintaining overall project administration & security.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining all works related with the Shipping, Port and Barge operation activities including its overall supervision for efficient performance of all these works.
- Leading processes, progress with team effectiveness, employee development, financial goals and market conditions.
- Possess strong estimating and organizational skills. Capable of monitoring and supporting site operations in all aspects from inception to successful completion including cost control, planning and scheduling.
- Establishing plans, budgets and result measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
- Keeping liaison with all kinds consultant of Environmental, business team, contractor, delegates etc.
- Keeping liaison with Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority, Ministry of Shipping, DoE and other Government office etc.
- Build company image by collaborating with customers, related organizations and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
- Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and results; estimating needs and goals.
- Preparing Project planning, Organizing, Supervising, Scheduling & coordinating all kind of project related work during implementation.
- Prepare and report to the senior management regarding the overall progress of the project time to time.
- Overall in charge of the day to day operation in the terminal which include the supervision of vessel operation, yard operation, gate operation and CFS (container freight station) operation.
- Coordinates with all concerned parties in a professional manner to successfully achieve the goals and objectives established by senior management as well as to satisfy the expectation of clients.
- Report regarding the progress of works as per form, designed by his superior/ management.

Educational Requirements
- MBA/Master
in any discipline of Commerce /Economics / Master Mariner/ Graduation or
an equivalent discipline from Dhaka University, Chittagong University and
other public university will be given preference.
- MBA from IBA will be an
added advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 15 years working experience in any reputed organization for project management, port operation etc.
Additional Requirements
- Age
limit 45-50 years.
- Only
males are allowed to apply.
- Knowledge
about the works of Ports, Shipping Agents and Barge Operation including
lCD /Terminal
- Knowledge
in the operation planning, marketing, management of lCD /Sea Port/shipping
including its security of ISPS standard.
- Knowledge
about the system of receiving of goods from the principal of cargo or his
agent or from factory premises for import & export purpose, its
warehousing and maintenance of records
- Knowledge
about documentation (like booking lists, shipping permits, delivery orders
etc.) of handling (like initiating, drawing up, receiving or delivering
etc.) all container/ cargo/goods for storage/ clearing/forwarding.
- Knowledge
for conveying instructions to and from the ship owners ,contacting
shippers & receivers of goods ,organizing necessary contacts with the
stevedores ,arranging dispatch of goods as per directives of the principal
of cargo ,settling cargo claims with insurance companies.
- Experience
in operation and management of activities related with, port, custom and
shipping agents
- Knowledge
& experience of C&F will be treated as added quality
- Good
communication and leadership qualities
- Smart
& Energetic.
- Proficiency
in the Microsoft Office tools
- Self-starter
with strong self-motivation and a proven capacity to work in a newly
established team
- Good
command of English both writing and speaking
- Good
knowledge regarding rules and regulation of Custom, VAT & AIT and
other export & import rules.
